Where is Venue 601 located?
Venue 601 is located at 405 Halstead Blvd, Elizabeth City, NC 27909, offering a modern, flexible event space for weddings and private events.
What types of events do you host?
We host a variety of events, including:
- Weddings µo-weddings
- Repasts & celebrations of life
- Birthday parties & showers
- Corporate & community events
- Private gatherings & ticketed events
All events are subject to venue approval.
How many hours are included in a rental?
Rental time is based on your signed agreement and typically includes event time only.
Additional time for setup or breakdown must be approved in advance and may incur additional fees.
What spaces are included in a rental?
Depending on your contract, rentals may include:
- Front event space
- Back event space
- Or the entire venue
Your agreement will specify which areas are reserved for your event.
What is included in the rental fee?
Standard rentals include:
- Tables
- Chairs
- Standard linens
Décor, specialty rentals, styling, and event coordination services are not included unless arranged separately.
Is a deposit required to book?
Yes. A non-refundable deposit equal to 50% of the rental fee is required at the time of signing to secure your date, unless otherwise stated in writing.
Is there a security or clean-up deposit?
Yes. A $250 refundable security/clean-up deposit is required.
Clients may either:
- Pay the deposit upfront, or
- Place a valid credit card on file for a $250 pre-authorization processed 48 hours prior to the event
The deposit is refunded following a satisfactory post-event inspection.
When is final payment due?
Final payment is due no later than 30 days prior to the event date.
- Events booked within 30 days require full payment at signing
- Failure to pay by the deadline may result in cancellation
Who is responsible for setup, breakdown, and cleanup?
Unless otherwise arranged:
- The client is responsible for setup, breakdown, and cleanup
- All personal décor, rentals, and belongings must be removed at the end of the event
Incomplete cleanup may result in additional fees deducted from the security deposit.
Do weddings require a Day-Of Coordinator?
Yes. All weddings at Venue 601 require a professional Day-Of Coordinator.
The coordinator is responsible for:
- Timeline management
- Vendor direction
- Ceremony and reception flow
Venue staff do not act as wedding coordinators.
What if we don’t hire a Day-Of Coordinator for a wedding?
If a wedding client chooses not to hire an external coordinator, an Additional Coordination Fee will apply (based on the rental scope). This covers additional staffing, oversight, and operational support required to maintain venue standards.
Are planning meetings or rehearsals included for weddings?
Yes. Wedding rentals include:
- One planning meeting, scheduled no earlier than 30 days before the event
- One 1-hour rehearsal, held within 7 days of the event
Scheduling is subject to venue availability.
Can alcohol be served?
Yes, alcohol may be served with proper permits.
- All required licenses are the client’s responsibility
- Documentation must be provided at least 7 business days prior to the event
- Alcohol service without proper permits is not allowed
Is event insurance required?
Event insurance is required for:
- All events with 51 or more guests
- Certain event types as outlined in your agreement
Venue 601 must be listed as additional insured, and proof must be provided 30 days prior to the event. Insurance may be purchased through any licensed provider.
When is security required?
Security is required for:
- Ticketed events, or
- When required by the Fire Marshal, Police Department, or their designee
Security must be provided by sworn law enforcement personnel or a licensed security firm.
Can Venue 601 provide security?
Yes. Venue-provided security is available upon request for an additional fee.
Rates are determined once the final event details are confirmed.
Clients may also provide their own approved security that meets venue requirements.
Are there any prohibited activities?
Yes. The following are not permitted:
- Smoking (except in designated areas
- Illegal substances
- Open flames
- Live animals (excluding registered service animals or pre-approved exceptions)
- Confetti, glitter, or similar decorative materials, including biodegradable or “eco” versions, due to cleanup and facility protection concerns
What happens during the holiday season?
During the holiday season, Venue 601 features seasonal décor throughout the venue.
- Holiday décor cannot be removed or altered
- Installation and removal dates are determined solely by Venue 601
- Clients are encouraged to tour the space in advance if décor visibility is important
What is your cancellation policy?
All payments are non-refundable.
If a client cancels:
- One (1) reschedule may be offered, subject to availability
- The new date must be the same day type (weekday or weekend), unless an upgrade fee is paid
Event cancellation insurance is strongly encouraged.
What happens if venue rules are violated?
Venue 601 reserves the right to terminate an event immediately due to:
- Breach of contract
- Illegal activity
- Unsafe conditions
Termination may occur with or without notice.
